NEW TECH FEATURED IN THE 2016 NISSAN ROGUE

The new 2016 Nissan Rogue is here and, although not many changes were needed, the well-known car brand certainly bumped up the technology offerings in this popular crossover vehicle. Given the advancements in autonomous driving and car connectivity, Nissan took a step forward by integrating a few of these technologies into the beloved 2016 Rogue model. Here's a look at four of the newest technologies to be added to the Rogue.

FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING

Nissan sought to make the Rogue safer than ever with their 2016 model and the addition of Forward Emergency Braking did just that. This update incorporates radar technology, so the vehicle can actually sense when there is another vehicle or object ahead and will automatically slow the speed or come to a stop if necessary.

This technology can help you avoid accidents before you even see them, causing less fatalities and car accident related injuries. This is an impressive first step for Nissan toward including more autonomous technology in their most popular vehicles.

UPDATE TO THE BLIND SPOT WARNING SYSTEM

Another safety feature that Nissan has improved is the Blind Spot Warning system in the updated Rogue. Earlier models had camera-based systems, but the latest model will now feature a radar-based system. The new and improved radar-based system will take the guesswork out of your blind spot check and instead function by sensing a vehicle or object that's in your blind spot and warn you beforehand.

MOTION-ACTIVATED POWER LIFTGATE

Fellow car brand competitors launched numerous ad campaigns to put the spotlight on their foot-activated tailgate feature. However, Nissan has now incorporated this once exclusive feature into the updated 2016 Rogue.

You'll never have to struggle to open the trunk of your car again while trying to load groceries, boxes, or any large object. With the keys on your person, all it will take now is an easy swipe of your leg underneath the trunk and it will open automatically.

INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM GAINS NISSANCONNECT SERVICES AND SIRI EYES FREE VOICE CONTROL

One of the most exciting tech updates is the introduction of NissanConnect Services and even voice-activated Siri Eyes Free to certain trim levels of the 2016 Rogue. For Apple users, Nissan has added the Siri Eyes Free feature which allows the driver to use built-in controls to access Siri and various other iPhone applications without having to take their eyes off the road.

NissanConnect Services takes car connectivity one step further by granting drivers safe access to a wealth of applications and important information. The technology integrates apps like Facebook, iHeartRadio, Pandora, and Twitter directly into the infotainment system, while also adding in other benefits like optional telematics services for things like vehicle maintenance reminders.

Driving no longer means you have to disconnect from your phone and social networks. Instead, the 2016 Nissan Rogue brings everything to you through a safe and secure method.

Nissan knew it was better to leave the popular Rogue mostly untouched design-wise and focus instead on integrating functional and effective new tech and it paid off.
