Can the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid Handle a Colorado Springs Winter?

With the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid due at dealers in fall 2026, the first ones arrive heading into winter. Every grade has dual-motor all-wheel drive, which matters if your weekends include a drive from Colorado Springs up US 24 through Ute Pass to Woodland Park.
How Does the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid's e-POWER System Work?
The Rogue Hybrid is the first Nissan sold in the U.S. with e-POWER, and it works differently from most hybrids. In a typical hybrid, the gas engine and an electric motor can each drive the wheels, alone or together.
Here, the gas engine never drives the wheels. A 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder runs a generator, which charges the battery that powers two electric motors, one at the front axle and one at the rear. There's no transmission.
Makes electricity only. Never connected to the wheels.
Charged by the generator and by regenerative braking.
Front and rear. All-wheel drive on every grade.
Nearly 2 million e-POWER vehicles have been sold in 68 countries since 2016. The Rogue Hybrid uses the third generation of the system.
What Is the 2027 Rogue Hybrid Like to Drive in Winter?
Electric motors make full torque from a stop, and with no transmission to shift, the Rogue Hybrid pulls away smoothly. Combined output is 225 horsepower, and the front motor alone makes more torque than the gas engine.
Because each axle has its own motor, the all-wheel drive keeps adjusting how much power goes to the front and rear. If you're heading up US 24 toward Woodland Park in the snow, the system watches for wheel slip and adjusts power and motor braking to help you keep control, including on snow-covered hills.
The gas engine only runs to make electricity. It runs less at lower speeds, where the motors draw less power, and more at highway speed or under heavy load. Once the battery has enough charge, the engine shuts off completely and the cabin gets quieter.
What Is e-Pedal on the 2027 Rogue Hybrid?
e-Pedal is Nissan's one-pedal driving mode. When you lift off the accelerator, the motors slow the car and send energy back to the battery, and they can bring it all the way to a stop. Smooth Stop eases brake pressure at the very end so the stop feels smoother, and the hydraulic brakes then hold the car in place.
Does the 2027 Rogue Hybrid Plug In?
No. It has no charging port, so there's no charger to install. The battery charges from the generator and from braking. For fuel, it takes regular unleaded, and the tank holds 14 gallons.
When Is the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid Coming to Colorado Springs?
The first version to reach dealers is the SR with the SR Technology Package, arriving in fall 2026 at $41,490 MSRP. The SV, SR, and Platinum follow in early 2027, starting at $35,490 MSRP for the SV.
For winter mornings, the SV already has heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. A power liftgate is standard too. The SR has a sportier look, with 19-inch wheels and gloss black trim. Its Technology Package adds Hands-off Traffic Jam Support, the 14.3-inch screens with Google built-in, a 3D camera system for parking, and a heated steering wheel. The Platinum has those features too, plus heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, a head-up display, and Bose audio, which no other grade offers.
All three grades come standard with dual-motor all-wheel drive, e-Pedal, ProPILOT Assist, automatic emergency braking, and blind spot intervention. ProPILOT Assist keeps a set distance from the car ahead and helps keep you centered in your lane, and this version spots slowing traffic sooner than the one in the 2026 Rogue. The grades also share Rear Cross Traffic Alert for backing out of tight spots and Lead Car Departure Notification, which lets you know when the car ahead starts moving.

Prices shown are Nissan's MSRP as announced September 21, 2026. MSRP excludes the $1,575 destination and handling charge, tax, title, license, and options. Our selling price may vary. All-wheel drive can't prevent collisions or provide extra traction in every condition.
Can you fit three car seats in the back of the 2027 Rogue Hybrid?
It depends on the car seats. The rear seat has five anchors for the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system, so you can install a car seat with LATCH in the center position too. That gives you more flexibility for three across. The rear doors also open to nearly 90 degrees, which makes installing seats easier.
How much cargo space does the 2027 Rogue Hybrid have?
You get 31.1 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 65.9 cubic feet with them folded. The space is designed to fit three large suitcases standing side by side.
What's the ground clearance on the 2027 Rogue Hybrid?
8.4 inches on the SV and 8.5 inches on the SR and Platinum.
Does the 2027 Rogue Hybrid have a Snow mode?
Yes. Snow is one of six drive modes, along with Standard, Eco, Sport, Off-Road, and Personal.
Does the 2027 Rogue Hybrid come with a spare tire?
Not on the SV or SR, which come with a tire repair kit. On the Platinum, a temporary spare is available as a factory option.
